Herb Cream Cheese

Herb Cream Cheese Recipe:

  • 8 Oz of Cream Cheese
  • 1 Tbs Scallions finely chopped
  • 1 Tbs Fresh Dill finely chopped
  • 1 Tbs Fresh Parsely finally chopped
  • 1 Tbs Milk
  • 1 Pinch of Salt

Combine ingredients in a mixer and blend.

The milk will help to make it a bit creamier.

Transfer into a container with a good seal and refrigerate.

 

Preparing the fresh greens fills your kitchen with a lovely aroma! This recipe is really yummy on any kind of toast, or special loaf. It’s also really good on a bagel with lox.

 

Lugaw

Lugaw recipe:

  • 3 Cups of steamed rice
  • 4 Cups chicken broth
  • 1 Tbs of ginger peeled and minced
  • 4 Cloves of garlic minced
  • 1/2 of an Onion diced
  • 1 lb Chicken breast diced
  • Juice from half a lemon
  • 2 Tbs of Oil

Warm 2 Tbs of oil in a pan on medium heat.

Add ginger, onion, and garlic and cook until soft .

Add chicken and cook, but do not brown.

Set aside to prepare the rice.

Put rice into a pot and add 2 cups of chicken broth.

Warm on medium heat  and stir continuously to avoid from scorching the rice. If necessary, reduce heat to low.

Cook until the rice is very soft and has a porridge-like consistency (anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes).

Add chicken broth as needed.

Add ingredients from the pan (chicken, garlic, ginger and onions).

Include any sauce from the pan to add flavor to the Lugaw.

Add lemon juice.

Combine and simmer anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. Continue to stir frequently to avoid from burning the rice and add broth as needed.

 

This recipe is really good when you’re sick. It’s great on a cold day winter day. A small bowl fills your stomach. It’s also nice with some toast!

Chocolate Chip Pan Cookies

Prep: 10 mins

Yields: 48 bars (4 dozen)

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 375° F. Grease 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan.

COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Spread into prepared pan.

BAKE for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.

Substitute a 15 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ x 1″ jelly-roll pan with one of the following pans:

  • 8″ x 2 1/2″ springform pan
  • 9″ x 9″ x 2″ square pan
  • 11 3/4″ x 7 1/2″ x 1 3/4″ baking pan
  • 13″ x 9″ x 2″ rectangular pan

If you use a glass pan, reduce the temperature by 25 degrees.

I had to add another 15 mins to the bake time.
